MORE ABOUT HAITI
|
Professional / Trade SchoolThis is a dream the Montfortian priests (both Father Charelus and Father Wilner) have had -- to build a professional trade school in the area. The Montfortians own a small piece of ground in La Kur (about half way from Gros Morne and Kayimit). This location will allow access by many folks that live in more remote areas to attend -- but still be located on a major road. Although the road is dirt (and often muddy) it does connect Gros Morne and Port-de-Paix so it is a major connection in northwest Haiti. The dream is to be able to teach such trades as tire repair, auto repair, electrical, welding, plumbing, sewing and even agriculture. The ultimate phase of the dream would include a dormitory to house both students and teachers.

This is the ground the Montfortians have already purchased for future construction of a Trade School.
