Want To Get Involved? - Attend A Fundraising Event
Over the years we have had various fundraisers and have greatly appreciated the support of both St. Mary Cathedral parishioners as well as the greater Lafayette community. With Helen Hession as the chair of our Haiti Fund Raising Committee, we have had many different events over the years -- such as Taste of Haiti, garage sales, youth car wash, golf outings, Purdue University Varsity Glee Club dinner & concert and others -- as well as regular collections at Mass. Our Haiti mission has received many direct donations in addition to the money raised from these endeavors. Every penny that is raised by these events -- or otherwise donated to our Haiti mission -- goes directly toward funding one of our many projects.
Despite all that we have accomplished, there remains much more still to do. There is a Haitian proverb that says "Piti Piti Zwazo Fe Nich Li." -- which translates into "Little by little the bird builds its nest." It is applicable to our mission because we try not to be overwhelmed by all that we see that needs done, but rather "little by little" accomplish what we can -- one project at a time.
